Filming Lucy & Josh’s Autumnal Wedding at Colshaw Hall, Cheshire

There’s something about autumn weddings that feels especially cinematic. The light is softer, the colours richer, the air just a little bit slower. Lucy and Josh’s wedding at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire was a perfect example of why this season will always have my heart.

From the moment I arrived, Colshaw Hall was showing off. The tree-lined drive was dressed in warm golds and burnt oranges. As a filmmaker, it’s the kind of setting you hope for—the kind that does half the work for you.

Lucy and Josh’s autumn wedding at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire was a brilliant day to film. With seasonal colours, relaxed energy, and a stunning venue, it was the perfect setting for a modern UK wedding film.

Colshaw Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues in Cheshire, especially in autumn, and this day was a great example of why.

Getting Ready at Colshaw Hall

The morning started with Lucy getting ready in one of Colshaw Hall’s elegant bridal suites. The space is bright and spacious, which makes it ideal for filming natural, relaxed moments. Lucy spent the morning with her closest friends and family, and the atmosphere was calm, happy, and full of excitement.

Josh and his groomsmen were getting ready elsewhere at the venue and were in great spirits — lots of laughs and anticipation as the ceremony approached. Being able to film both preparations on-site is one of the big advantages of Colshaw Hall.

Wedding Ceremony at Colshaw Hall

The ceremony took place with the beautiful Colshaw Hall grounds as the backdrop, surrounded by autumn colours. When Lucy walked down the aisle, Josh’s reaction said it all — one of those genuine moments that really makes a wedding film special.

The ceremony was personal, emotional, and full of warmth. From a filming perspective, it had everything: natural reactions, meaningful vows, and a great setting that looked fantastic on camera.

Autumn Wedding Filming Around the Grounds

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the venue’s grounds for couple shots. Autumn weddings are ideal for this — the colours, softer light, and quieter atmosphere work perfectly for relaxed filming.

Lucy and Josh were completely at ease, which made capturing natural moments easy. These are always some of my favourite parts of the day to film, and Colshaw Hall offers so many great spots without needing to travel anywhere else.

Evening Reception and Celebrations

The evening reception was warm and lively, with great speeches and a packed dance floor. Colshaw Hall’s interiors work really well for evening filming, especially as the light fades and the celebrations get going.

Everything flowed smoothly, and the whole day felt like a true reflection of Lucy and Josh — relaxed, joyful, and full of love.

A Cheshire Wedding Venue Perfect for Autumn

Lucy and Josh’s wedding was a great example of why Colshaw Hall is such a popular wedding venue in Cheshire, particularly in autumn. It offers beautiful scenery, excellent light for filming, and the convenience of having everything in one place.

Lucy and Josh, thank you for trusting me to film your wedding. It was a pleasure capturing your day at Colshaw Hall, and I loved being part of such a memorable autumn celebration.
